Flow vs Strength
Ever rolled with that training partner that doesn’t appear to breathe the entire fight from the sheer amount of pressure they applied through 100% of the roll?
Or
Ever rolled with that training partner that is light as a feather and appears to put in 0% strength and still manage to obtain dominant positioning or control?
Chances are, if you have spent more than a week on the mats, then you have experienced one of the above examples.
The debate at hand is flow vs strength.
But the fact is that they should not be against one another, but used in a perfect balance.
It is important to flow through with technique until you need pressure or strength to dominate and finish.
Both offer value and should be used in tandem.
Flow to where you want to go.
Pressure when the job of technique is done.
